Still Waters Camp 2018

Every summer some members of our family go to Still Waters Youth Camp in Indiana.
  There are four camps-  one for the 13-15 year olds and three for the 16-28 year olds. Not only do we go to have fun and to make friends, we go there to get closer to the Lord, and to recharge our batteries. Doing all the activities is lots of fun but it's just honey on the rock letting us lick it off to get what we need underneath.

 Thursday, the second to last day of camp, is competition day.  We all get matching tee shirts and are put onto teams with 5 girls and 5 boys. This years theme was" Identified".  Us as Christians are identifying ourselves to the Word, and being odd balls to the world.

Quiet Time

On Tuesday and Friday we have Chapel service, and let me tell you they are the most wonderful services you'll every attend!!

A Couple weeks after my camp Joshua and Lillia went! Monday when you arrive, is pretty calm, you check in and head to your dorms.  They also give you a tablet for things like pictures/the Bible/and also the schedule, because you are not allowed to have any electronics.

On Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday evenings we have a Bonfire.  Everyone gathers around the fire and sings together until its time fore bed.  If  you love good singing, you'll love It!

  

Everyday we have Quiet Time for an hour.  Everyone gets under a tree and prays/reads the Bible/or listens to a tape.  Its a wonderful thing that we need to do everyday.

The Camp is meant for young people to be a city of refuge from the world, to get closer to God, while not being distracted.  That's why we don't have our phones which is one of the biggest distractions.

 It has been a blessing in so many ways for me

 and every year that I go I take a big step closer to the Lord.

As you end the best week of the year you already get excited for the next year!

Friends From Canada

Ivan and Natalya, our friends from Canada, came down to PA for a week to visit.

 During that time we all made many memories and had many laughs!   

On Tuesday Joshua, Ivan, and I (after much begging) went on a deep sea fishing trip.

  

We caught Flounder, Black Sea Bass, and Ling.

While Ivan, Joshua, and I were fishing, Lillia was showing Natalya all the local shops.

Wednesday afternoon we went to Hershey Chocolate World and went on the factory tour.

On Thursday we went to the beach.  Natalya had been to the beach when she was young but had little memory of it.  We picked a perfect day to go and there weren't as many people there as could have been.

While us girls were at the beach, the boys went overnight camping/hiking on Hurricane Mountain in the Adirondacks, New York.

Not far from Hurricane Mountain is the Boquet River, which is a great place to cool off  after the hike.  In the right pic Joshua and Ivan are climbing up to do some cliff jumping.  It's definitely bigger then it looks.

After getting a big blessing at church and then wonderful fellowship afterwards our family flew home. Joshua, Lillia, Ivan, and Natalya went to Still Waters Camp.
