Friends From Afar

Lately we've been having fun with visitors from Arizona... last week Justin came down to our house for a day after going to Still Waters Camp in Indiana.  We had fun taking him for a bike ride down to the creek :)

Faith came down with him too :)



Justin flew back to Arizona on Monday and his sister Joanna flew in on Wednesday :)



We took Joanna swimming at the pond on Friday...



Joanna and Joshua left on Saturday afternoon with Uncle Eddie and Grace to start the drive out to Indiana for Still Waters Camp.  A few other young people from Western PA were picked up along the way and now they are at camp having the best week of the year!!  To see live updates click here

Pickles, Pickles, Pickles!

 

This week we did over 40 quarts of freezer pickles.

 

 One of our neighbors told us about this really easy FREEZER pickle recipe.  At first we were skeptical but now we're hooked!  We use our food processer to slice the cucumbers and onions.  We packed our half gallon containers to the brim with sliced cucumbers and a few onions thrown in for flavor.  Once the containers are full, sprinkle a tablespoon of mustard seed on top. The brine you pour into your containers is really simple.  Just four cups of apple cider vinegar, one cup water, one tablespoon salt, and two cups of honey.  Boil your brine in a pot on the stove, then pour it over the pickles in your containers.  Let your pickles cool and then put them into your freezer.  When you're ready for some yummy pickles just take a container out and stick it in your fridge.  Leave a comment and let us know if you try this recipe!

Food, Fun, and Fellowship at the Fogelsanger's

The Saturday after Josh and Danielle's wedding the Fogelsanger's opened their home for their annual church picnic.  This year there were more people because of the out of town guests who came in for the wedding, so there was lots of fun and fellowship!

Joshua & Danielle - Wedding

 
Friday afternoon our family was privileged to witness the wedding ceremony of Joshua and Danielle. Elainah was asked to be the flower girl which was a first for her! She was so excited and she looked adorable. Every detail of the beautiful day was planned with much thought by the bride.
