Snowman Tutorial

Hello everyone!  I thought I would share how my mom and I made the snowmen people for our family Christmas get together!  First I gathered all the supplies I needed.  Glass jar, (we like to repurpose so we save all of our glass spaghetti, olive, salsa, etc. jars) Styrofoam ball, ribbon, pipe cleaner, pom-poms, a toothpick, black and white/or clear beads, wire, a button, black, white, and orange paint, and a hot glue gun.

The jar lids take a long time to dry, so I painted them first.

I painted the toothpicks orange and stuck them in a Styrofoam plate to dry.
They will then be my snowman's nose.

Once your jar lid is dry, hot glue your white beads (actually they aren't beads they are some kind of hard mashed crystal stuff we picked up at a yard sale this summer :) around the rim.

Glue your black beads on as "eyes" and stick the toothpick in as a "nose".
Now glue your "head" onto the jar lid.
(To give your head a more realistic snow-packed look you can gently smoosh it with your fingertips)

Paint dots for a mouth...oops, I forgot to smoosh this ball!  :)

Stick your pipe cleaner in both sides of the Styrofoam head and glue a pom-pom on each end for ear muffs.  If you don't have pom poms you can twist pipe cleaners into muffs.

Form the ends of the wire into arms and stick them into the ball.

Now add your ribbon for the scarf and glue in place.
You might recognize this ribbon from our Christmas get together! :)
We save package trimmings for scarves!

Add a button for a finishing touch and your jar is ready to be filled!

Yes, I had fun making snowfolks!  :)

Save your jars!  :)

61-1224  SIRS WE WOULD SEE JESUS
Christmas is here to stay, and it isn't the birthday of our Lord, the time He was born. Now, if you'll get on your--on the globe and look, Judaea is just as about as far under the equator as this is above it. So we find out in Judaea, in them mountains up there, that there's snow, my, it's--more snow than there is here. So the shepherds could not be at--on the mountain at that time herding their sheep.
And another thing, He... It'd be contrary to all nature. See? Lambs and so forth are spring born, not this time of year. Lambs are not born now; the--the ewes don't lamb now. And He was the Lamb of God (You see?), so there--He was born along in (they claim), along in April sometime, middle of April, or something like that.

She thought it was extra speical that her name is
