Chalk Talk | PA Creations

Elva Hurst is an excellent chalk artist.  Her master pieces of paintings, drawings, and chalking are made and displayed in her Barnyard Art Studio.
We attended a Chalk Talk meeting a few years ago, and had such a fun time that my Mom thought it would be nice to have one again with the homeschoolers club.

For about an hour we sat spellbound watching Elva create her masterpiece to a recorded story and music.  This is the finished product.

Elva has a row of lights above her easel.   When the black light is shining you can see a sparrow in "A  Hand" in the sun, as she calls this chalk art 'All Gods Creatures'.
She has fluorescent chalk to help create special effects as well.

Afterwards Elva taught us about drawing with colored pencils, and all the tips and tricks that come with it!

She gave us a very basic outline of a horse and then instructed us on shading.
These are some of the finished products.

Some of her very beautiful art work.

Feel free to visit elvaschalkart.com if you would like to know more about Elva.
She has a very busy traveling schedule so you might want to check her times before visiting.

Arizona

When we're in Arizona we go on  hikes - lots of hikes.
The first hike that we went on was to Rucker Canyon.
It is a beautiful place with huge trees and giant mountains.

                                    Joy                                                                                    And that's Me

The rocks there are great for climbing.

Serenah loved throwing stones into the creek.

While we were hiking Benjamin went and rode in the tractor with Justin.

And kept Benaiah entertained.

---------------

On Thursday we stopped by the Strite's and picked up Micah David and Uriah then headed up to Turkey Creek.   My dad loves the Chiricahua Mountain Range, and  it seems we go there every time we go to Elfrida.

Could his smile get any better? haha.

------------------

Early Friday morning we went to the Sand-Hill Crane Sanctuary.
Unfortunately, we didn't get out the door early enough.
We only got to see a few cranes and ducks.

Afterwards we went back to Ruckers Canyon because mommy didn't get to go the first time.

We also saw a small family of Coatimundi!

That evening Justin and Jaylon flew over in their power-paragliders.

I don't think Serenahs very happy at being left inside.

Benjamin loves macaroni!
Kaitlyn packed some for him to enjoy on the airplane in a disposable sour cream container.
