The Alaska Adventure Begins!

We get to choose a trip of our choice when we graduate from high school as a gift from our parents. Joshua said he would like to go salmon fishing in Alaska. Joshua was nice enough to invite our family to come along. 

We all were really excited to be going back to Alaska.
 The last time we were there was in 2011 when David was 1!

Daddy, David, and Benjamin flew through Chicago to Anchorage, while Mommy and the rest of us flew through Dallas because of the full flights and limited seats!

Our humble abode for the next week

Our first morning we stopped at  Begich, Boggs Visitor Center in Portage Valley. 

This shows the migration route of some animals in AK.

They had neat little stations all through out the center where you could pick up a phone and listen to the videos.

After seeing a Mama Black Bear and two little cubs cross the road in front of us we had to see where they went!  But of course with the noise we make we didn't see them again! 

However, we found a neat creek with salmon spawning.

When traveling we do lots of impromptu sight seeing, like pull offs, look outs, and hikes. 

That evening we went on a raft tour down the Kenai river. Daddy was the only one that would pose for mommy on the raft!

 we didn't see any bear...

But we saw about 20 eagles!

The nice thing about having a motorhome is we don't have to look for camp grounds/hotels, bathrooms, or restaurants!
