"Wake up, boys!"

Hope writing in her journal
Wednesday morning we were driving along looking for wildlife, when Joshua shouts, "A moose!"
We were already past it so Daddy whipped the motorhome around and we hurried back.
After getting a picture of the moose, an eagle landed on a tree nearby! We are not sure if it
was a golden eagle or a juvenile bald eagle.
(Bald Eagles do not get their white head until they're 4 to 5 years old.)
Tern Lake was our next stop.
We went there near the end of the salmon run, but we still got to see a few swimming upriver.
In Daddy and Joshua's reflection on the water, there is a male salmon.
See him?
"Daddy, I want up there with you!" :)
Cutie!
Who is driving that motorhome?!
"Let's see who can get on top of their post first!"
Lillia won. Hope succeeded as well.
Joshua lost his balance and fell.
Daddy said, "Let's take a family picture on the posts!" So we did!
It was so funny to see Daddy race the camera timer to get onto his post!
Everyone (except Mommy, Elainah, and David) jumping off their posts!
I know it's blurry, but the camera was on sports continuous...We made our way back down the Seward Highway towards Anchorage.
Along the way we stopped at the Alaska Wildlife Conservation Center (AWCC)
They help injured and/or orphaned animals.
The three bears were huge! and they were only one year old!
I would not want to meet one of these guys out in the wild!
The bears were so funny!
Two of them sat on this log for the longest time!
"Ahhh, time for my afternoon nap..." :)
Then he decided, enough resting, so he went and played with some logs in the water.
On our way past Beluga Point, we saw these two ? swimming in the water.
We think they were Orcas (a.k.a. killer whales)
Then we went to Eagle River, where we hiked down a trail to an overlook where we could look at the salmon. The creeks that run through this valley are full of spawning salmon.
We weren't allowed to go down this trail because we might disrupt a
bear while he was enjoying his freshly caught salmon... :)
