Journey Through Africa

Our homeschool group chooses a public speaking topic every year. This year we invited our guests to journey with us through the continent of Africa.

These were the programs.  On the inside student #1 would coordinate with the country labeled #1 on the map on the cover.  Special thanks for Kaitlyn's help from afar making the programs!
We began by reciting from memory Acts 10:34-35.

Then we sang "The Map of Africa" song which names all 54 individual countries.
Juliana and Lily did Joy and Elaniah's hair in corn rows!

Hope researched the proper way to do the head wrap.

As the students said their speeches the older boys made sure their boards were brought to the front.

The homeschool moms brought African cuisine to share with the 100 guests.
  Special thanks to our servers.
(A few out of towners joined us for the event)

We were excited to find cups with Africa on them at the bargain store.

The food was really good!
David did lions -so you can guess who made these!

Milk tart pies are very popular in South Africa.
