Reception

After the wedding everyone headed downstairs for the reception.  We did something a little  different...we put the guest book table at the bottom of the steps, so you signed it before you went in to the reception.  This allowed seating to go quickly for the wedding but slowed the rush to the reception while photos were being taken.  Sarah and Chantel were lovely guest book attendants.

 

 

As well as the guest book Justin and Kaitlyn had a Bible for everyone to highlight their favorite verse.  After they signed their name in the guest book guests wrote the verse location they had highlighted.

Our amish neighbor Chris helped cut the logs for the centerpieces.  Actually we had been invited to their house for breakfast and mentioned the idea.  After we were home a couple of hours we  heard a chainsaw running! I guess he liked the idea! 

When Kaitlyn printed out the table numbers she included a "LOVE" scripture. 

There was a fruit cup on everyones plate.

 

 

Our amish friend Sarah did an amazing job at the ICED COFFEE BAR with the help of her husband, and Benuel and Lillian.  As you can see there were 5 flavors.  It was a big hit...almost 30 gallons of milk, 18 cans of whipped cream topping, and gallons of coffee mixture helped make an estimate of 600 iced coffees!!!

Daddy was the MC.  He did a very good job keeping everyone entertained.

The first table that you see was reserved for the immediate families of the bride and groom. 

 All the other tables in the front were reserved for the youth 13 and up.

 

 

 

 

 

We hired an amish man to cater the meat and potatoes.  All the other amish servers were our neighbors who generously volunteered their time.  We offered to pay them but they said they had too much fun to be paid.  One smiling amish lady requested they be asked to help at our other daughters weddings.  In amish culture it is an honor to be asked to serve at a wedding.  They are always asked to serve as a couple.  So one couple would be in charge of the mashed potatoes, one in charge of the drinks, etc.....

Bro. Jared read a poem he had written for the Bride and Groom.

 

 

This was the kids corner!  Kaitlyn remembered attending a wedding when she was little that had coloring books for the children.  She thought that was so nice she wanted to do the same.  Kaitlyn customized coloring books about her and Justin.  Thanks Renee for overseeing the little people.

 

Kaitlyn woodburned these hearts.

These are the contestants for the SHOE GAME.  They had to remove their shoes, then trade with their spouse so they are holding one of each.   Daddy would ask  a question like...

Who wakes up first in the morning?

Who is the better driver?

Who snores the loudest?

and many more....

After each question they held up the shoe of the person they thought was the best answer. 

 His shoe or her shoe?  But they couldn't talk about it ....

It was HILARIOUS!!!  Some agreed and well.....some didn't!

 

And the bouquet toss...

 

  Kaitlyn had taken 3 little bouquets and made them look like one. 

 So when she tossed it there were 3 happy ladies!

  Congratulations!

 

Now we are following the bride and groom to their car...

 

But there was only 1 seat!  Thanks for returning it Jaylon and Luke.
