BFT Family Camp

Sorry about the long delay on the Camp post!  I posted the "Vacation in East Texas" from the Houston Airport, but now we are home and I am posting about camp.  :)  Wednesday afternoon we arrived at the Believers Fellowship Tabernacle Family Camp located in Jasper, Texas.  Wednesday evening the message entitled "Where Has Thy Strength Gone Sampson"  laid the foundation for the weekend.  The theme for this year's camp was "The Holy Ghost is a MUST; Be Determined!  Thursday morning after a huge southern breakfast, Bro. Paul Derksen preached. During the morning services the children ages 3-11 go to "Children's Church" where they play Bible games and enjoy Bible based puppet shows.  Lunch is served after the morning service and then you are free to play volleyball, mini golf, ping-pong, go to the gun range, or sit around and visit with friends.  Thursday evening, Bro. Paul preached the second part of his sermon.  After the evening service, sandwiches, chips, fruit, and cookies were provided if you were hungry.  Friday morning, the kitchen staff stuffed us full of waffles, omelets, grits, biscuits 'n gravy, and bacon!  Bro. Ricardo preached on, "Remember Me, Lord" in the morning and Bro. Isreal Powe preached on "Ruth Deciding, Serving, Resting, and Rewarded." in the evening.  Saturday morning Bro. Wesco preached on being "Led By The Spirit". Saturday evening Bro. Whisper preached to the adults and children in the chapel, While the youth ages 13-28 enjoyed a missionary themed banquet.   Every year there is a theme for the Youth Banquet and this year the theme was "Missionaries Far and Wide". The ladies from Believers Fellowship Tabernacle did an amazing job transforming the Dining Hall into an Asian and African atmosphere.   A zebra skin was pinned on the wall next to an African hut, brightly colored pillows were arranged along the Asian section, and Chinese lanterns hung over the tables.  Bro. Gerald Buitencamp from the Voice of God office in Holland gave testimonies of his life as a missionary.  Sunday morning the Message, "Living, Dying, Buried, Rising, Coming" was played.  During the afternoon we fellowshiped with friends and in the evening Bro. Whisper preached on Adoption.  Monday morning everyone still at camp helped to pick up trash, clean dorms, etc.  We also had to say our good-byes to our friends... :'(  *sniff*  The BFT Family Camp is a wonderful opportunity to fellowship with the Lord and each other.  We met many new friends and saw some we hadn't seen in a while!   Hopefully these pictures give you a taste of the wonderful week we had!

  3. Good thing you put pics of the camp on your blog or else no one would get to see any camp pics until BFT put them up...which would probably be a while =D. Enjoyed the post! Looked like it was as everyone has been saying--AWESOME!
That pic at the banquet of Justin on the table doing "Higher, Higher" reminded me of my July camp how campers were jumping on the benches at the campfire during that song. ;)
