Rollerskating Party

Hope, Elainah, and Lillia all have birthdays around the same time so we rented the Mt. Gretna Roller Rink last Tuesday evening to celebrate!  This was the only date that suited our calendar as well as the roller rink.  We planned to come home from Arizona on Monday, but due to full flights half of us made it home at 2 a.m. Tuesday flying through Chicago and the other half at 10 a.m. flying through Dallas!  :)

We chose a candy theme

We decorated the scoops with pipe cleaners and ribbons (Left)
Each little table booth had a jar of pretzels, animal crackers, nuts, etc. (Right)

Each water bottle had a number on it.  During the evening the birthday girls picked a number and the person with that bottle got a prize.

Guess how many candies are in this jar!

 Hopie getting a drink...gotta stay hydrated!  :)

We played a few relay races

Join hands with someone near you and start skating.  When the ref blows the whistle everyone swing around and skate in the other direction!  It was pretty funny when he started blowing the whistle every two seconds!  No one knew which way they were supposed to be going!

The birthday girls
We bought their shirts but my mom didn't like the saying on them so she covered it with a piece of material and made it look like a piece of candy.  Then she painted their "numbers" on them.

1st place winner (right) Becky chose the toothbrushes and 2nd place winner Charity won the 621 pieces of candy!  The candy won't last long if she shares with her 12 brothers and sisters!

We especially enjoyed the fact we were able to bring our own music!  It was neat to watch everyone skating around clapping to HAKUNA from Still Waters!

THE WEDDING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :)

THE WEDDING!
I know many of you all have been waiting for some wedding pictures so I hope you enjoy these.

Mr. & Mrs. Chris Derksen!

A bitter-sweet day for Bro. Jared & Sis. Joyce
On each table the bowls were filled with chocolate covered pretzels

The happy couple!

The maid of honor, Meda Hyde, made the bride and bridesmaids dresses!
She is SUCH a talented seamstress!

Cutting the cake

They were sweet and didn't smear icing on each other!  :)

The girls ages 9 and up helped serve cake.  This was a highlight for Hope and Lillia!

Once they got in the car to drive off, a small planned problem arose... :)
As soon as Chris turned on the car, the horn blared, and would have kept blaring if he hadn't turned the key off.

Since it was Jaylon's car, he was quick to assist the groom :)

Memories!  :)

Adventures in Arizona - Rodeo Parade & Strites

While I was at the Strites house, my family and the three youngest Strite boys were at the Tucson Rodeo Parade.  Since I wasn't there, Lillia is going to narrate this post.  Enjoy!  :)

Watching the parade

A stagecoach

Miniature ponies

These flowers were made from paper plates!

I love how the ladies dresses are spread over the horses backs!

After the parade we went to the Strites for dinner.
