Starting Home...

One of the last things we did before leaving Maine was watching the Sunrise from Cadillac Mountain.  We left the campground at 5:30a.m. and drove to the top of the mountain where we huddled under our blankets waiting for the sun to rise.  With a temperature of 38*F and the wind it was quite chilly!!

Back at the campground we had a yummy breakfast of pancakes and bacon before packing up camp.

We love peanut butter on our pancakes! :P

We drove back to New Hampshire were we spent the night at Dolly Copp Campground.

The next day we drove up Mount Washington, the tallest mountain on the east coast!

Our Maine Adventures Continue

We thoroughly enjoyed our time in Acadia National Park.  One morning we began with a hike on the Precipice Trail, the most treacherous trail in Acadia National Park.  Daddy and the five oldest started off while Mommy and the two little boys waited down below.

 

It started off pretty easy...

Then it got a little more difficult... so I went back down...

I'm not too fond of climbing ladders up the sheer face of a mountain!!

 

Waaaay down there in the parking lot is where we waited... we actually got to see them at the top, what little dots they were!

There is a different trail down the mountain, a bit easier then the hike up!

We continued around the park loop and stopped along the ocean

It was so awesome to just sit on the rocks and watch the waves crash below

We enjoyed our lunch along the coast.



 



We went to Jordan Pond in the evening before we went in to Bar Harbor. 

Jordan Pond has a depth of 150 ft. with visibility normally at 46 ft.

 

In Bar Harbor we walked across the sandbar to Bar Island at low tide.

Check out this seaweed! The huge plant was attached to just a small rock!
