Ice Cream - Keepers

Our first Keepers meeting this year was held at Aunt Rebekah's home where we learned different ways to make the delicious treat of Homeade Ice-Cream.

We made several different kids of Ice-creams using different methods.

 Ever shake your own ice cream?

Add 1 T. of sugar, 1/2 C. milk, and 1/4 t. vanilla into a small Ziploc bag.

Put your ice cream mixture into a gallon Ziploc bag halfway filled with ice and 6 T. of rock salt.

After shaking for five minutes you will have a nice little bag of Vanilla ice cream!  If you're a chocolate fan just add a teaspoon of Hershey chocolate powder to your small bag!

Mixing and shaking....Shake that ice cream, Abigail! lol

 Elainah got to add the green food coloring for our mint-chocolate chip ice cream.

This time we let the machine crank it for us!

Joshua and Lincoln decided that hand-shook ice cream was too much of a treat to miss out on!

 they also tried the mint chocolate chip ice cream :)

A Picnic at the Bahner Farm

I'm a bit behind on my blog postings so this is another event that we enjoyed last week :)

 

We traveled out to the Bahner Farm in western PA this past Saturday for their annual picnic.

 And there's always fun games of barnyard volleyball!
